Hormonal Test

A hormonal test is a functional test in which the introduction of a hormone into the body is used as a load. Hormonal tests are used to diagnose dysfunction of the endocrine glands.

The essence of a hormonal test is that the patient is injected with a certain hormone, and then its effect on the body is assessed. For example, during an insulin test, insulin is administered and the dynamics of blood glucose levels are analyzed.

Hormonal tests can identify disturbances in the functioning of the endocrine glands and assess the sensitivity of tissues to the action of hormones. They are widely used in endocrinology for diagnosis and treatment monitoring. The most common hormonal tests include insulin, thyroid, cortisol and other tests.

A hormone is an organic substance secreted by the endocrine gland and has a biological effect on other organs of the human body. Our body simultaneously produces a huge number of different hormones that regulate the functioning of certain organs. In medical practice, determining the level of their content in the blood makes it possible to identify various diseases and work disorders
