Habitat

Habitat is a type of natural environment in which a particular type of organism (animal or plant) lives. Habitat includes environmental factors necessary for the survival and reproduction of organisms of a given species.

The main habitat factors include:

  1. Climate. Temperature, humidity, precipitation and other climatic conditions.

  2. Landscape. Terrain, soil type, presence of reservoirs.

  3. Vegetation. Type of vegetation cover, presence of forage plants.

  4. Other organisms. Presence of predators, food competitors, parasites, etc.

  5. Anthropogenic factors. The influence of human activity.

Each species has its own specific habitat requirements. If these requirements are not met, the species will not be able to exist in the area for long. Therefore, the conservation of natural habitats is of great importance for maintaining biodiversity.
