Hemophilia

Hemobilia is a rare complication of gallstones in which blood enters the bile ducts, which can lead to the development of a hematoma (blood in a tissue or body cavity). The causes of hembolization are injury to the gallbladder or ducts, infections, damage to the bile ducts by surgical interventions, malignant tumors, cysts and other diseases.

Hemobilia is a dangerous complication, as it can lead to impaired blood flow in the liver, spleen and other abdominal organs, as well as to infectious complications. Diagnosis of hemobilia is usually carried out by ultrasound examination of the liver and biliary tract, computed tomography and other research methods.

Treatment of hemobilia begins with eliminating the cause of the hemorrhage.
