Hemothorax Interlobar

Hemothorax is the accumulation of blood in the pleural cavity. There are 2 types:

1. hemorrhagic hemothorax - hemorrhage between the parietal and visceral layers of the pleura. 2. pneumo-, hydro-, pneumopleuritis - the result of damage by an infectious agent to the thin wall of the pleural cavities. In this case, a small amount of blood accumulates near the visceral layer of the pleura, which is called pleural effusion. The deposition of a large amount of fluid around the diaphragm is accompanied by stretching of the interpleural ligaments, multiple atelectasis in the lower parts of the lungs and severe respiratory failure. - These types of bleeding occur when there is a strong blow to the chest area, as a result of a sharp surge in pressure.
