How to Make an Original Postcard Yourself

Cards are a wonderful way to congratulate loved ones on their birthday, Christmas or any other holiday. However, what to do with them after the holiday has passed? Throw them away? No! We encourage you to reuse postcards to create original cards or cards with your own hands.

In this article we will tell you how to make an original card yourself from old Christmas cards.

Step 1: Gather your materials

To create an original postcard you will need the following:

  1. Old Christmas cards
  2. Scissors
  3. Sheet of colored paper
  4. Glue
  5. Pencil
  6. Ribbon or lace

Step 2: Cut off the desired card pieces

Select the cards you like and cut out the parts of the image you need. You can cut out whole pictures or just parts of them. Don't be afraid to experiment! Perhaps you will find unexpected combinations of colors and shapes.

Step 3: Place the pieces on a piece of paper

Place the cut out parts of the image on a piece of colored paper. Try different layouts until you find one that suits you.

Step 4: Glue the pieces onto a piece of paper

Once you have decided on the placement of the pieces, glue them onto a piece of paper. Use glue to make sure they stick tightly.

Step 5: Add Details

You can add additional details such as lettering or decorations. Write a congratulatory message or add a small drawing. Use a pencil or markers to make the card more colorful and original.

Step 6: Add Ribbon

If you want to use the card as a gift card, add a ribbon or string. Make a small hole in the corner of a piece of paper and thread a ribbon or string through it. You can crop the card image and have your child tie the ribbon.

That's all! The original postcard is ready. This project is great for activities with children and can be a wonderful gift for loved ones. Don't throw away your old cards - create something new and original instead!
