Chromophages

Chromophages. What is this? Introduction The study of chromosomes and cellular organization has been one of the main areas of molecular biology since the discovery of the nucleus at the beginning of the 20th century. The nucleus of a cell is its key structural and functional unit and contains the basic genetic information in the cell. The concept of DNA as the basis of genetics, the chromatic theory of maturation IS one of the most important scientific advances in the study of chromosome behavior in higher organisms.

The first knowledge of chromosomes in animals was obtained only in the mid-19th century, with the small chromosomes of amphibians and reptiles showing a very superficial and limited response when exposed to a range of stimulants. In addition, it was found that as a result of some gametocyte cyclic transformations, consisting of prometaphase and metaphase, stimulation is ineffective. All this indicated insufficient gene expression at the time of this cell cycle. Very well characterized diploid frog chromosomes have been discovered in prometaphase, and some studies of these structures have led to the determination of the type of division in these cells and its possible consequences in a framework that forms the basis of the modern model of replication and karyotype organization. Since then, there has been an extensive revision of the paradigm, and recent research suggests introducing a new term - Chromo
