Chromomycosis

Title: “Chromomycosis: systemic aspects of fungal diseases”

Introduction: Chrommycosis is a group of systemic mycoses that arise as a result of fungal infections of non-spore fungi. This group combines several diseases that affect the internal organs and systems of humans. They can have both a general and localized location. Chromycoses are usually fungi of the genus Candida and Absidia.

Definition: The term chromomycosis is taken from medicine; it is classified as a eumycosis disease, according to the infectiousness of the causative agent. Symptoms of chromomycosis,

Chromomycosis is a rare but serious skin infection that is caused by a special type of fungus called Actinomyces israelii. This fungus is characterized by the formation of large tumors covered with a thick bark that can spread throughout the body through the lymphatic system.

The history of this disease goes back to the past, when our world was much more harsh and undeveloped. In those days, people faced the danger of chromomycosis and showed an amazing ability to survive in this difficult situation. Symptoms of chromomycosis can appear anywhere, including the skin, bones, eyes, ears, and even internal organs. These tumors are capable of growing at a rate of several millimeters per year, making this disease even more dangerous for humans. Despite all this, the diagnosis of chromomycosis has its own characteristics. If treatment is not started promptly, this fungus can cause death. Main

The name **"Chromomycosis"** sounds tempting and, perhaps, attractive. However, this name is quite correct, but very far from the generally accepted name **"Chromycoid".** It's all about one replacement of one letter. Apparently a typo was once made, after which there was no way to change anything. Fortunately, the disease called "Chromophytosis" has not become synonymous with "Chromycosis". It is interesting that a similar story happened in the Russian language. The word “Fungus” was used to describe a fungus that is pathogenic for mushrooms, while the mushrooms themselves were called mushrooms (“Mushroom-mushroom”, hence the name “Mushroom-eaters”). The author of the article could not find any descriptions or references to a photograph or drawing of the disease in question. Besides my curiosity, I discovered an interesting feature of the two alternatives to this name. The following questions naturally arose:

*The article did not provide a translation of the name “Chromaster”; Chromastic (Gr. chroma and astikos - color and heel) - colored spotted (in 2 meanings) fungus; Focal skin lesions with multi-colored subcutaneous lesions; perhaps it means “blue nail.” *Perhaps some of the names of this disease have already disappeared from everyday speech?
