Hydrops (hydrops; Greek hydōr water + -ops) - is a diffuse effusion of the liquid part of the blood expressed in varying degrees into the serous cavities of the pelvis; simulates a tumor of the uterus, ovaries, inflammatory diseases of the pelvic organs or an acute abdomen. Pelvic hydrops differ from hydroceles in that there is no connection between the hydrops cavity and the abdominal cavity. The disorder is characterized by multiple relapses; the formation of ectopia of the bladder and intrauterine adhesions is possible.
