Hypalgesia

**Hypalgesia** is a condition in which a person is unable to experience pain or has a significantly altered perception of pain. Unlike algology (loss of sensitivity to pain), when the patient does not experience any sensations at all, hypalgia is a relatively mild form of insufficient pain sensation. Its manifestations vary depending on the form and degree of the disease; they can be mild and gradually intensify. Symptoms of damage to this type of neuron are very similar to the neurological disorders of atypical epilepsy, as such people may also experience memory loss, clumsiness, and other symptoms that are commonly seen in other types of epilepsy.



Hypalgesia can literally be called a synonym for loss of sensitivity; it is the opposite of hyperesthesia - soreness (increased sensitivity to pain). Here is just a short list of diseases accompanied by hypalgesia from my latest observations:
