Circulatory hypoxia: understanding and consequences
Circulatory hypoxia, also known as circulatory insufficiency, is a serious medical condition that occurs as a result of insufficient oxygen supply to the body's tissues. This occurs due to decreased blood flow and insufficient perfusion of organs and tissues.
Circulatory hypoxia can be caused by various reasons. One of the most common causes is heart failure, in which the heart cannot pump blood effectively throughout the body. This may be due to damage to the heart muscle, valves, or other heart structures.
Another cause of circulatory hypoxia may be bleeding, such as acute blood loss or internal blood flow. With significant blood loss, the volume of circulating blood decreases, which leads to a decrease in the supply of oxygen to organs and tissues.
