Iliac branches (ramus colicae, pna; ramus uterinus - terminal branch canal). Along the caudal (subvesical) wall of the lower abdominal cavity and in the pelvic cavity there are three iliac branches of the ureter that reach the renal pelvis. Following the course of each of these branches forward, in women they lie medial to the ureters. With its endings in various places and levels of branching, the iliac branch joins the wall of the bladder, the opening of the urethra as it exits the bladder, and less often to the anterior wall of the rectal ampulla (see Fig. 3, 4 segments of the rectum).
