Immune response

An immune response, or immunological reaction, is the body’s protective reaction to foreign substances (antigens). The immune response ensures the destruction of pathogens and the maintenance of homeostasis in the body.

The immune system recognizes foreign substances and launches a cascade of reactions to destroy them. There are several types of immune response:

  1. Innate immunity is the first line of defense, including phagocytosis, inflammation, complement, etc.
