Abortive infection

Abortive infection is a disease that manifests itself in the form of inflammation of the walls of the uterus, leading to bleeding from an ectopic pregnancy and miscarriage. The cause of infection is the entry of pathogenic microorganisms into the uterus through the cervix and its cavity, for example, during artificial termination of pregnancy, curettage of the uterine cavity during surgery, as well as during childbirth or breastfeeding. Infectious agents can also enter the uterine cavity through blood vessels in the walls of the uterus, especially if there is injury or erosion to the vaginal walls. As a result of the active proliferation of infectious agents on the cervix or mucous membranes of the cavity, inflammatory changes occur that lead to pain, irritation and bleeding. Infection can occur at any age, but girls of reproductive age are most susceptible.
