Intrataxim

Intrataxim: a powerful weapon against bacterial infections

Intrataxime, also known by the international name Cefotaxime, is one of the third generation cephalosporins. This powerful antibiotic is produced in Spain by Torlan laboratories and is widely used in medical practice to combat various severe bacterial infections.

Intrataxim has a wide spectrum of action and is effective against sensitive microorganisms. It is used to treat infections of the respiratory tract, skin, soft tissues, bones, joints, urinary tract, pelvic organs, as well as to combat infections caused by bacteremia, septicemia, peritonitis and bacterial meningitis. Intrataxime is also effective in preventing infections after surgery, including gastrointestinal surgery.

The dosage form of Intrataxim is presented in the form of a lyophilized powder for the preparation of an injection solution. The active substance is cefotaxime.

Before using Intrataxim, you must consider contraindications. It is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to penicillins, other cephalosporins, carbapenems, as well as during pregnancy, breastfeeding and in children under 2.5 years of age (with intramuscular administration). You should also be careful when using Intrataxim in patients with a history of enterocolitis and chronic renal failure.

Side effects may occur when using Intrataxim. Some of these include headache, dizziness, cardiac arrhythmias (with rapid administration), hematopoietic disorders (neutropenia, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia), allergic reactions (rash, urticaria, anaphylactic shock) and gastrointestinal disorders (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea). Impaired kidney function and increased activity of liver enzymes are also possible.

It is important to note that Intrataxim may interact with some other medications. For example, concomitant use of aminoglycosides, polymyxin B and loop diuretics may increase nephrotoxicity. Probenecid slows down the elimination of Intrataxim from the body, which can lead to an increase in the concentration of the drug and an increase in its toxicity.

The dosage of Intrataxim depends on the severity of the infection, the patient's age and kidney function. It is usually administered intramuscularly or intravenously. The duration of treatment may also vary depending on the type of infection and the patient's clinical response.

It is important to consult your doctor or pharmacist before starting treatment with Intrataxime. They will be able to provide more detailed information about use, dosage, possible side effects, and interactions with other medications.

Intrataxime is an effective antibiotic for fighting severe bacterial infections. However, self-medication or improper use of antibiotics can lead to the development of bacterial resistance and complicate treatment. Therefore, it is always important to follow your doctor's instructions and take antibiotics only as prescribed by a specialist.
