Iralgesic: a combination of effectiveness and safety

Iralgesik is a combined analgesic-antipyretic, produced in the form of tablets, and is intended for the treatment of mild to moderate pain, as well as for reducing fever in colds and other infectious and inflammatory diseases. The combination of active ingredients - acetylsalicylic acid, paracetamol and caffeine - provides a synergistic effect and increases the overall effectiveness of the drug.

The drug has the international name "Acetylsalicylic acid + Paracetamol + Caffeine" and is also known under various synonyms, such as Aquacitramon, Algomin, Algon, Askofen plus, Askofen-ANVI, Askofen-P and others.

One of the important aspects when using Iralgesik is contraindications. The drug is not recommended for hypersensitivity to its components, gastric and duodenal ulcers, gastrointestinal bleeding, severe liver and kidney dysfunction, hypocoagulation, genetically determined deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, glaucoma, bronchial asthma, in the first trimester of pregnancy and during breastfeeding.

When using Iralgesik, some side effects may occur. From the digestive system, pain in the stomach and nausea may occur, and with long-term use of high doses, liver dysfunction and erosive and ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract. In addition, palpitations, bronchospasm and impaired renal function are possible.

It is important to consider possible interactions of Iralgesik with other drugs. It can enhance the effect of anticoagulants, antiplatelet agents and some NSAIDs, and also interact with glucocorticoids, sulfonamides and methotrexate. The simultaneous use of Iralgesic with barbiturates, anticonvulsants, rifampicin and alcohol should be avoided.
