Many people like cats, and especially their beautiful eyes. Some girls even wear makeup called “cat eye.” But to draw a cat's eyes with a pencil, you will need a little patience and practice.
Where to begin
To work, you will need any pencil or pastel if you prefer to draw with it. You will also need a piece of paper. Any paper you feel comfortable drawing on will do.
You will also need a shading tool. You can use a cotton swab instead. However, it is not advisable to use your own finger for this purpose.
In addition, it is worth noting that when drawing you do not need to put pressure on the pencil so that the lines are thin and can be easily erased. So, how to draw cat eyes with a pencil step by step? The guide is provided below.
Sketch of an eye
The first step in drawing a cat's eye is to create a sketch. Therefore, first, draw an oval at a slight angle. But you don’t have to draw an oval, you can draw a circle or a triangle. The choice of shape depends on what shape you want to give to the eye.
The next three steps involve drawing the pupil, large or small, adding a highlight that is a reflection of the light source, and finally drawing the tear duct.
After this, you can refine the contour of the eye and paint over the pupil. Remember, if you are going to erase any details, make the lines using only light pressure on the pencil. If you are sure that you will not make any changes, then you can make clear black lines.
Adding shadows
Next, to draw the cat's eyes, you need to add shadows. First you need to shade the iris of the eye. Start by lightly shading the inside of the eye, leaving a small undarkened gap around the pupil. This will add a little volume. Then rub the pencil onto the paper with a cotton swab or other shading tool. And don't forget to leave the highlight completely white.
Next, you can add a little more shading around the edges of the iris, but try not to paint too much on the bottom of the eye. It is better to leave it lighter than the others.
Also add light shadows on the outside.
Drawing fur
After you have drawn the cat's eye, you need to add some fur. To do this, draw many short lines going from the eye in different directions, but tightly adjacent to each other. If you have difficulty drawing fur, you can simply add shadows around the eyes.
Finally, add a highlight to the tear duct and add a little more shading around the area.

Start with a circle. The square will make it easier to draw the circle. Use an F or HB pencil.
Draw the iris and eyelids.
Blend the entire design with a blending stick to soften the lines.
Use the eraser to highlight the eye and erase any extra lines.
Using a soft pencil, draw veins in the iris. 4B is best for this, but 3B and 2B can also be used.
Shade the lips with a harder pencil. I used an F pencil, but an HB pencil will also work.
Extend the shading. Use a 4B pencil for dark shadows. Use a 2H pencil to add some light texture in some places. Use an eraser to lighten the iris here and there.
Finish drawing the eye by shading the eyelids using an H or HB pencil and shading the background.
How to draw beautiful cat eyes
Let's draw the cat using STABILO Trio colored pencils on regular drawing paper.
Triangular pencils are especially comfortable for a child's hand, so the child can draw for a long time without fatigue.
Thanks to the large surface area of the grip area, they reduce muscle tension when drawing and instill in the child the skill of holding a writing instrument correctly.
What we need:
- A simple pencil.
- Colored pencils (STABILO).
- Paper.
Let's draw two squares with a pencil. Let's write them in a circle by hand. Shape the upper eyelid.
We draw the pupils and lower eyelid. We paint the whites with a yellow pencil, and the pupil with a black pencil.
Adding colors to the iris of the eye. We make the outline of the eyes clearer by drawing it with a black pencil.
