Read more about which ones you will need in this section.
What do you need to create makeup for Halloween? 5 means
Mascara that will help create the effect of spider legs, long-lasting blood-red lipstick to imitate bruises and a black liner that draws “dark” details - products that are sure to be found in any cosmetic bag. What else could be useful for a Halloween themed make-up?
If you only use nude eyeshadows and only allow yourself textures with shimmer on holidays, it's time to reconsider your habits. This palette of bright pink, purple and yellow shadows will not only be useful for creating a remarkable Halloween look, but it may also encourage you to experiment with makeup in your everyday life. With its help you can create, for example, fashionable eye makeup in red or pink tones. By the way, a smokey eye palette will also come in handy - what would Halloween be without black eye shadow?
You will need it if you want to create a romantic, rather than scary, look for Halloween. Why not become a forest nymph, mermaid or fairy fairy for one night? Adding a little glitter to your look is the easiest way to make your makeup festive, so don’t put the jar away: New Year is just around the corner.
We don’t get tired of singing odes to this magical make-up product – and we won’t stop until the make-up base is in every cosmetic bag. 10 Easy and Simple Halloween Makeup Ideas
Before we start discussing the really difficult – and scary! – images, we suggest looking at a selection of make-up solutions that will help you create an interesting thematic make-up without extra effort.
Paint your lips with a thick foundation that is a tone lighter than your skin. Cut out a lip-shaped shape from thick paper, place it on your cheek and outline it with a permanent pencil. Fill in the empty space with long-lasting matte lipstick. Ready!
Bright shadows with strong shimmer, applied right up to the eyebrows, plus a juicy glossy lip gloss will make you the queen of the dance floor in no time.
One of the most fashionable trends of recent years is bright freckles, which can be “worn” not only in the sunny season: this beauty trick is also useful for Halloween. Apply a little loose glitter to your face, mark freckles with a pencil (we showed how to do this here) or instead of regular dots, draw hearts, as in the picture.
Barbie is the last thing on your mind when it comes to Halloween. But why not, for the sake of variety, try on the most doll-like look of all time? Paint your lips with bright pink glossy lipstick, apply purple eye shadow to your eyes and blend it into a haze (for example, like in this video). Draw a classic arrow with black eyeliner and thickly coat your eyelashes with mascara.
Under the lower eyelids, blend shadows with a bronze tint, and use them to highlight the inner corners of the eyes. Paint your lips with brick red lipstick, add a little golden glitter to them (to create a similar lip makeup, see our photo instructions). Cover your entire face generously with shining loose glitter, and set your makeup with a setting spray.
This ironic make-up look is accessible even to those who find mascara difficult to use. Use an eyeliner to draw dotted lines, then outline them with long-lasting black eyeliner. Apply matte red lipstick to your lips. Of course, this kind of makeup looks more impressive with clear arrows, but you can do without them.
The author of this image calls for silence, but you can write your own message on the motionless eyelid. It’s okay if the inscription is not too smooth, the main thing is to design it so that it is easy to read.
The superhero costume is traditionally one of the most popular at Halloween parties. Why not experiment with makeup? This bright version of the “superhero mask” will definitely attract everyone's attention!
Another interesting option for using colored eyeliner. To draw David Bowie's signature lightning bolt on your face, use paper tape. Use it to mark the boundaries of the drawing, and then it’s up to you.
Halloween is a holiday during which you need to overcome your fears. What do girls fear most? That's right, smudged lipstick. It's time to look this fear squarely in the face!

Makeup dolls for Halloween
You don't have to buy extra makeup to replicate the creepy look of a ventriloquist doll. Everything you need can probably be found in a basic cosmetic bag: eyeliner, dark gray eye shadow, black pencil, red lipstick and foundation. But for this make-up it is better to use a foundation lighter than your natural skin tone, so that your face turns out deathly pale.
Makeup Harley Quinn
The look of the supervillain from Suicide Squad after the film's release became as classic a Halloween makeup look as Santa Muerte and Catwoman. Its main advantage is that it does not require precision in execution, so even beginners can create it. Follow our photo instructions.
The tradition of dressing up in carnival costumes for Halloween appeared relatively recently, although the holiday itself has been celebrated for several thousand years. But modern people are attracted precisely by the carnival part of the holiday, the opportunity to try on the most incredible images.
One of the popular Halloween characters is the clown. It would seem that the image is not the most suitable for this holiday, which is dominated by vampires and other evil spirits. But, of course, we are not talking about ordinary clowns, whose main task is to make children laugh, but about their sinister antipodes.
The most famous evil clown is perhaps Pennywise, a character from the novel It, written by Stephen King. However, there are many other villains who hide behind the red wig and clown makeup.
To do clown makeup for Halloween, you should stock up on special products. We will need face painting or theatrical makeup, although, of course, we can get by with regular cosmetics.
Where to begin?
To do spectacular clown makeup at home, you should first imagine the future character. For inspiration, you can look at photos of Hollywood movie characters that feature killer clowns.
This image is perfect for both girls and guys. When coming up with an image, you should immediately decide how much you want to disfigure yourself. Will your character be simply evil, or are you planning to make him scary? In the latter case, artificial blood and imitation wounds will be required.
The simplest option
First, let's look at how to do the simplest clown makeup with your own hands, without using special products. To complete the work you will need:
- foundation of the lightest tone;
- cosmetic pencils in two colors - red and black.
Let's get started:
- Apply foundation to the face, carefully covering the eyebrows and lips;
- Using a black pencil, draw a wide mouth, depicting an unkind smile. In the spaces between the new contours of the lips we depict teeth; they can be made triangular to make it even scarier;
- Using the same black pencil, carefully paint over the space between the drawn teeth. The “teeth” themselves can be carefully painted over with white matte shadows;
- We shade the drawn lips with a red pencil or paint them with lipstick using a brush;
- on the forehead, much higher than the natural level, draw “eyebrows”. They can be made semicircular or broken;
- Draw a “cross” next to each eye. We draw a vertical line from the middle of the lower eyelid down, and from the middle of the upper eyelid up. We draw a horizontal line to the sides from the outer and inner corners of the eye. Shade the pencil lines;
- We draw a red dot on the tip of the nose, or put on a foam clown nose.
Our makeup is ready, the “clown” wig will complement the image.
More complex options
If you plan to do a more complex makeup, then you should cover your face with theatrical makeup or white face painting. If face painting is used, there is no need to prepare the skin. When applying theatrical makeup, Vaseline or baby cream should be applied to the skin. It is convenient to apply the products with a sponge.
To make a "torn" mouth like the Joker's, you will need a paper towel or napkin, as well as liquid latex. Instead of latex, glue, which is used for gluing rhinestones or eyelashes, is quite suitable.
We tear off strips from the napkin and glue them in several layers from the corners of the lips to the cheekbones. After the glue has dried, use a toothpick or nail scissors to carefully tear apart the layers of napkins; the paper will represent peeling skin. We apply makeup on napkins so that they blend with the main tone of the face. Then we paint our lips and our stickers with blood red lipstick. There is no need to try to apply cosmetics very carefully; if it smudges, it will be even worse.
In a similar way, you can make wounds under the eyes. To do this, stick two small strips of napkins under the eye, placing them in a V shape. Do not coat the edges that are located closer to the eye with glue. Carefully tear off the glue-free part of the napkins. We cover everything with white makeup.
We cover the area under the eye, free from napkins, with purple and red shadows, so that it covers the inflamed skin with bruising. All that remains is to apply artificial blood to the lagging “rags” of napkins so that the wound looks completely natural.
If you are creating makeup for a guy, you can use black or brown shadows to paint wrinkles with a brush; girls are unlikely to agree to “age” themselves this way. You need to draw the nasolabial folds, as well as wrinkles on the forehead. To do this, you need to frown your eyebrows and brush with shadows in the places where folds form.
All that's left is to look in the mirror. Well, have you developed clownphobia yet?
