Calcium dobesilate: angioprotector for the treatment of vascular diseases

Calcium dobesilate, also known by the international name "Calcium dobesilate" or the synonyms "Calcium Dobesilate", "Doxy-Chem", "Doxylek" and "Doxium", is a drug belonging to the pharmacological group of angioprotectors. It is widely used to treat various vascular diseases. Calcium dobesilate has a positive effect on the condition of blood vessels and improves microcirculation in the body.

Manufacturers of the drug are Lugansk Chemical and Pharmaceutical Plant (Ukraine) and Olainfarm Olainsky Chemical and Pharmaceutical Plant (Latvia). Calcium dobesilate is available in the form of tablets with a dosage of 250 mg. The main active ingredient of the drug is calcium dobesilate.

Indications for the use of calcium dobesylate include:

  1. Diabetic microangiopathy and retinopathy;
  2. Trophic ulcers;
  3. Glomerulosclerosis;
  4. Atherosclerosis of blood vessels of the lower extremities;
  5. Varicose veins and phlebitis of superficial veins;
  6. Haemorrhoids;
  7. Hemodynamic disorders of arteriovenous origin;
  8. Peripheral congestive edema;
  9. Microcirculation disorders;
  10. Steroid vasculitis;
  11. Bronchial asthma (hormone dependent).

The drug has some contraindications, including hypersensitivity to the active substance, bleeding while taking anticoagulants and pregnancy. In rare cases, dyspeptic disorders and allergic reactions such as skin rash may occur as side effects from the use of calcium dobesilate.
