Kalgel: an effective dental product for teething in children
Kalgel is a dental gel produced by several companies, including Wellcome Ltd and Glaxo, and intended for use in teething in children from 3 months of age. The gel contains two active components - lidocaine hydrochloride and cetylpyridinium chloride, which have analgesic and antimicrobial effects.
Kalgel has the form of a gel and is easily applied to the child’s gums using a special applicator that comes with the drug. The gel is quickly absorbed and begins to act within a few minutes after application.
Contraindications for the use of Kalgel include hypersensitivity to lidocaine and cationic detergents. Allergic reactions may occur when using Kalgel, but there is no data on overdose or interaction with other drugs.
Kalgel is an effective and safe remedy for relieving teething pain in young children. However, before using Kalgel, you should consult your doctor and read the instructions for use.
