Lithotomy

Stone cutting (lithotomy) is a surgical operation in which an incision is used to separate segments of a stone, followed by the separation of stone fragments with a stone. Performed in the presence of obstruction of the pyelocaliceal system by stones. Stone sections can be open (performed in the lumbar region during open adenomectomy), laparoscopic (sometimes as an independent operation), hybrid and retrograde.

Stone cutting procedures must be performed carefully and accompanied by medical assistance, as the procedure can be life-threatening. In addition, the stone cutting procedure can cause a number of complications, such as bleeding, infection, inflammation and damage to surrounding tissue.
