Tracheotomy cannula

A tracheotomy cannula is a medical device that is used to keep the airway open in patients suffering from respiratory failure. It consists of a tube with a tip and a balloon at the end, which is inflated when necessary to open the airway. When the patient is under anesthesia (sleeping pills), the canna is inserted into the trachea, that is, into the respiratory tract, from where air begins to flow. While receiving anesthesia, the patient falls asleep and breathes through a tube. Over time, the tissue in the larynx is replaced by fibroblasts and the trachea begins to grow at the site of the problem, which allows natural breathing
