Cardiura

Cardura (doxazosin) is a selective alpha1-blocker produced by Pliva in Croatia. It is widely used to treat hypertension, including in older men with isolated systolic hypertension, as well as hypertension due to metabolic disorders, chronic heart failure, pheochromocytoma, benign prostatic hyperplasia, and obstructed urinary outflow.

Cardura is available in the form of 2 mg and 4 mg tablets containing the active substance doxazosin. It works by blocking alpha1 adrenergic receptors, which leads to vasodilation and lower blood pressure.

Like any drug, Cardura has contraindications and side effects. It is contraindicated in cases of hypersensitivity, stenosis of the aortic and mitral valves, pulmonary embolism, severe liver dysfunction, pregnancy and childhood. Taking Cardura may cause several side effects, including dizziness, syncope, postural orthostatic hypotension, nervousness, irritability, edema, tachycardia, arrhythmias, fatigue, shortness of breath, headache, blurred vision, rhinitis, xerostomia, abdominal discomfort, nausea, constipation, chest pain, cerebrovascular accident and urinary incontinence.

Before you start taking Cardura, you should discuss its use with your doctor, especially if you have any medical conditions or are taking other medications. In addition, the possibility of orthostatic hypotension, as well as a decrease in concentration and reaction speed when driving vehicles and working in production, should be taken into account.

So, Cardura is an effective drug for the treatment of arterial hypertension and other diseases. However, before using it, you should discuss possible risks and contraindications with your doctor in order to avoid side effects and achieve maximum therapeutic effect.
