Syn.: tendon knot, tendon cord. The nodular form of the dorsal aponeurosis consists of a large number of small nodules in the form of granular, whitish edema. The nodes are located across the phalanges of the index, middle and ring fingers, spreading to the area of the interphalangeal joints. Signs of compression of nerves in the nodes are moderate: deformation of the fingers, hypotrophy and atrophy of the skin, chronic analgesia. Muscle tone is preserved, fingers may appear smoothed, somewhat shortened, and stretched. There is no pain. Such nodules are more often observed in rheumatism.
