Intestine Colon

The colon is the section of the large intestine that runs directly behind the cecum and fills the upper abdominal cavity and the back of the small pelvis. When feces move, it performs pendulum-like oscillatory movements due to differently directed pressure that arises in it. In humans, the average length of the large intestine is 150-160 cm. It has three parts: the cecum, colon and rectum.
