A parasitic cyst is a violation of the epithelium of the cervix, leading to cystic tissue changes. This disease is most often caused by the human papillomavirus, the infection of which is transmitted sexually or through household contacts. In more rare cases, a cyst is formed as a result of trauma to the tissue of the uterine cervix or infection of the body by a mechanical foreign body during an abortion or other medical procedures.
Causes of cyst formation The most common cause of cyst formation is hormonal changes. Sometimes the cause is abnormal cell division processes, a disturbed immune system, or benign formations in tissues. This can be either a congenital defect or an acquired one.
