Photoreceptor cells

Photoreceptor cells are a type of cell in the body that are able to sense light signals and transmit this information to the brain. They play an important role in vision and other light-related functions.

There are many types of photoreceptor cells in the human eye. Let's look at some of them:

1. Cones. This is the most common type of photoreceptor cell located in the visual pigment of the fundus. Each cone consists of an inner fibrillar part (soma) and an outer reticular part (axon).

2. Sticks. This is another type of photoreceptor cell located in dark light that provides peripheral vision. Rods do not have an axon, but they contain
