Hylus cells
Hylus cells, or gates, are structural elements of the ovary that are located in its interstitial tissue. The hilus cells include a network of cells that connect with each other and provide nutrients and hormones to the oocyte. In addition, the hilus includes various blood vessels and lymphatic vessels that provide nutrition and metabolism to the hilus elements. Impaired functioning of the hilus structures can lead to disruption of the ovaries and the reproductive system as a whole.
The main function of hilus cells is the regulation of the processes of fertilization and implantation
