Colitis Ulcerative Idiopathic

IBD is an inflammatory bowel disease that can include various forms of colitis (inflammation of the colon), ulcers and fissures, and Crohn's disease (inflammation of the esophagus, small and large intestines).

Ulcerative colitis is a chronic disease of the large intestine. The inflammatory process rarely affects the entire intestine. Basically, ulcerative colitis develops, affecting the inner and outer edges of the colon. This form of colitis is the most severe in terms of prognosis. Blood vessels are destroyed, ulceration, hemorrhage occurs, as well as perforation of the intestinal wall with the development of peritonitis. Ischemia of the intestinal wall is often observed.

Approximately 25% of patients suffer from distal colitis, affecting the colon from the anus to the rectosigmoid region. Distinctive feature
