Coma Delayed

Delayed coma

The essence of delayed coma. When devastating diseases occur, such as strokes or heart attacks, almost 30% of patients lose consciousness and lose control of their actions (aphasia), wakefulness reflexes are reduced to a level at which they usually cannot be awakened. In case of a prolonged sleep-like state, it is still possible to bring the patient to his senses. In most cases, it is impossible to wake up patients even with the help of strong drugs - this condition is called “delayed coma”.

**The causes of premature coma** are, as a rule, bleeding, drowning, poisoning, and the malignant stage of a heart attack. The state of sleep is determined by the inhibition reflex, which affects the control of breathing and maintaining normal functioning of the heart muscle. The difficulty of treatment is that despite the lack of regulation of consciousness from the brain, it persists. To understand the complexity of the situation, it is not enough to have information about which body functions are controlled by the brain.
