Comma

Comma (from the Greek "komma" - segment) is a punctuation mark in the form of a comma, which is used to separate parts of a sentence or to highlight separate parts of a sentence.

Comms help make a sentence more understandable by breaking it into meaningful chunks. They indicate small pauses within a sentence. Correct use of comms is of great importance for literacy in writing.

There are many rules for placing commas in the Russian language. Commas are placed between homogeneous members of a sentence, when separating introductory words and phrases, when addressing and in other cases. Proper use of comms helps avoid ambiguity and misunderstanding of the text.
