Kopai Tree

Legumes - Fabaceae (Leguminosae). Pharmacy name: Copai balsam, obtained by tapping the trunks of trees of the genus Copaivae balsamum (formerly: Balsamum Copaivae).

Botanical description. An evergreen tree 10-20 m in height, with pinnate leaves, without thorns. Grows in the tropics of South America.

Active ingredients: essential oil, resins, bitterness.

Healing action and application. Copai balsam was previously used to disinfect the urinary tract, as well as the bronchi.
