Salpingitis

Salpingitis is an inflammation of the fallopian tubes. The disease is most often accompanied by simultaneous inflammation of the ovaries (salpingoophoritis).

Causes

Inflammation is caused by various microorganisms: staphylococci, streptococci, Escherichia coli, gonococci, mycobacterium tuberculosis.

Symptoms

In the acute form, there is a high temperature, pain in the abdomen and lower back. In chronic cases - dull pain in the lower abdomen.

Diagnostics

The diagnosis is confirmed by anamnesis, clinical picture, and tests for flora from the cervical canal and vagina. An ultrasound of the pelvic organs is performed, and, if necessary, laparoscopy.

Treatment

Includes antibiotics, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, physiotherapy. If ineffective, surgical treatment is required.

Prevention

Prevention of abortions, timely treatment of infections of the pelvic organs, fight against extragenital foci of infection.
