Cortical Gaps

Cortical lacunae (pericortical replacement) is a concept used in neurology to describe hypomyelinated areas in certain areas of the brain. Typically, the femur and head of the spinal cord, the cerebellum and the perisylvistral cortex of both hemispheres are considered in this context. Although it has been suggested that they might play a role in some mental processes, the importance of their presence remains mysterious. Diffuse obstructive or genetic
