Kramer's Symptom

Cramer's sign is a clinical sign that is used to diagnose certain diseases such as pneumonia and pleurisy. The symptom was described in 1886 by the German surgeon Karl Cramer.

In order to determine Cramer's symptom, it is necessary to palpate the patient's chest. In this case, the doctor should pay attention to the following signs:

  1. Feeling of tension and pain in the lungs, especially when breathing deeply.
  2. The presence of wheezing and noise in the lungs.
  3. Deviation of the chest during inhalation and exhalation.

If the patient has all these signs, this may indicate the presence of pneumonia or pleurisy. In such cases, it is necessary to conduct additional research to clarify the diagnosis and prescribe treatment.
