Vagotonic crisis

**Vagotonic type crisis** (Hamagawa syndrome; s Vagotonica; in English “vegetative lability of the vagotonic type”) is a neurological deficit caused by a violation of autonomic regulation and/or sympathetic dysfunction. According to ICD-11, it includes all episodes of dysadaptation in cardiorespiratory and autonomic regulation that occurred in patients with clinical depression. This concept should not be confused with autonomic dystonia syndrome or autonomic neurosis, as well as with autonomic crisis.
