Laboratory Medical Diving

The medical diving laboratory (MDL) is a specialized medical institution designed to conduct medical examinations and monitor the health of submariners and divers.

Main tasks of the MLPP:

  1. Conducting medical examinations of submariners and divers before diving.

  2. Assessing the suitability of submariners and divers to work at depth.

  3. Monitoring the health of submariners and divers during training and work.

  4. Providing emergency medical assistance in case of health problems during training descents and real dives.

  5. Carrying out rehabilitation measures after completion of dives.

The MLPP employs highly qualified medical personnel, including medical specialists in underwater medicine, physiologists, and baromedic specialists. The laboratory is equipped with modern diagnostic equipment for examining the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, conducting functional tests and other studies. The work of the MLPP is aimed at maintaining a high level of performance and health of submariners and divers.

The medical diving laboratory (MDLD) is designed to conduct medical research and provide medical care in conditions of high pressure gas environment.

The MLPP conducts preliminary and periodic medical examinations of divers and tests them for suitability for work at depth. The laboratory also treats diving diseases, including decompression sickness and barotrauma.

The MLPP equipment includes a medical pressure chamber in which an increased pressure of the gas environment is created, simulating the depth of immersion. This allows you to simulate underwater diving conditions for the examination and treatment of divers.

In addition, the laboratory has the necessary medical equipment for conducting functional studies of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, an X-ray machine, and resuscitation equipment.

MLPP plays an important role in ensuring the safety of diving operations and the health of divers. Timely and high-quality medical care helps prevent the development of severe forms of diving diseases.
