Langenbeck Needle holder

The Langenbeck vintage needle is a device - a needle holder, named after the German surgeon Heinrich Langenbeck. The operations are performed under anesthesia. When a needle is inserted, it is removed by pressing a key, while if it is necessary to tighten the needle, you need to return the needle to its original position by pressing on a special ring. Preservation of the needle in the patient's body after surgery is achieved by placing the needle next to the applied sutures after removing the suture material or applying additional sutures (surgical knot), but when removing the needle, additional events occur

Langenbeck needle holder (Langenbeck) is a device used in dentistry and maxillofacial surgery to maintain tissue stability during surgery. The device was developed by German dentists Wilhelm Langenback (20.4.1819-22.5.1890) and Ernst Salzinger in 1960. Since then, the device has become an indispensable tool in many areas of medicine, in particular also in cosmetology.

The main purpose of using the Langenbeck needle clamp is to fix the tissue and help the surgeon cope with many problems and complications. Its design is made in such a way that, thanks to a special support plate, it is located above the moving elements and holds them. Thus, the doctor can make a more precise movement to get to the desired element. In short, a needle clamp holds tissue in place like a steel ring. To begin the procedure, the dentist places the needle in the area where assistance is needed, then moves it to the required length and pinches the desired areas with precision.
