Lansoprazole

Lansoprazole is an antiulcer drug produced in Spain. It belongs to the pharmacological group of drugs used to treat ulcerative lesions of the stomach and duodenum, as well as other diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.

The drug is produced by Chemo Iberica (Spain) and has the international name "Lansoprazole". It is also known under synonyms: Akrilanz, Lanzap, Lansofed, Lancid, Epicurus.

Lansoprazole is available in the form of a substance, that is, in the form of an active substance without additional components. It contains lansoprazole as the active ingredient.

The use of lansoprazole is recommended in the following cases: non-ulcer dyspepsia, peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum, benign gastric ulcer, erosive-ulcerative esophagitis, reflux esophagitis, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, as well as Helicobacter pylori infection in combination with other drugs.

There are contraindications to the use of lansoprazole, including hypersensitivity to the drug, the presence of malignant neoplasms of the gastrointestinal tract, pregnancy and breastfeeding. There are also restrictions on its use in patients with impaired liver function, persons under 18 years of age and the elderly.

When using lansoprazole, side effects may occur, such as headache, feeling unwell, dizziness, drowsiness, depression, anxiety, diarrhea, changes in appetite, nausea, abdominal pain, constipation. In rare cases, painful intestinal inflammation, gastrointestinal candidiasis, and increased liver enzymes and bilirubin may occur. Other possible side effects include cough, pharyngitis, rhinitis, respiratory tract infections, thrombocytopenia, anemia, photosensitivity, skin rash, flu-like syndrome and myalgia.

Lansoprazole may also interact with other medicines. For example, it may reduce the clearance of theophylline and interact with antacids containing algelrate and magnesium hydroxide. Lansoprazole may also alter the pH-dependent absorption of other drugs, slow the absorption of some drugs and affect their effectiveness.
