Laryngitis Phlegmonous

Laryngitis is inflammation of the mucous membrane of the larynx. Phlegmon of the larynx occurs as an independent acute infectious disease or as a complication of catarrhal or lobar inflammation of the larynx, subacute or chronic tonsillitis, mumps, scarlet fever, diphtheria, traumatic lesions of the larynx, etc. In response to the proliferation of microorganisms in these diseases, deep inflammation of the laryngeal tissue and surrounding tissues occurs . A rapid purulent melting of the mucous membranes and submucosal layer of the epiglottis develops.
