Laryngotracheitis virus

Laryngitis is an inflammation of the larynx caused by the influenza virus or respiratory syncytial virus. The virus penetrates the mucous membrane of the larynx and causes the formation of erosions and ulcers. Infectious laryngitis is accompanied by the following symptoms: sore throat, dry barking cough. The vocal cords are only slightly affected. Treatment of laryngitis is carried out conservatively at home or on an outpatient basis. To facilitate nasal breathing, vasoconstrictor drops are used; in addition, the patient may be hospitalized if complications arise. If the treatment was untimely or inadequate, the inflammatory process spreads to the vocal folds, ligaments and bronchioles, resulting in laryngospasm and then developing
