Potatoes are one of the most popular folk remedies for removing papillomas at home. It has virtually no contraindications and is quite easy to use. Its popularity is also promoted by many recipes with this vegetable. But for all this to help, you need to use potatoes for papillomas correctly.

Useful properties of potatoes against papillomas

Potatoes are a perennial plant of the Solanaceae family, the genus Nightshade, which consists of two parts - bush, green, and underground, which are tubers. It belongs to vegetables, has an average length of 5-8 cm, a thin peel of beige, purple or pink color, contains a large amount of solanine, and is therefore considered partially poisonous.

In order for the treatment of papillomas with potatoes to be as effective as possible, it is better to use old tubers from last year’s harvest, since young ones contain less solanine, juice and starch, which give the desired effect. It is used both raw and boiled. The vegetable can be combined with other folk remedies and medications.

Note! To remove and discolor papillomas, you can use whole or chopped potatoes, mashed potatoes, and fresh root juice.

Potatoes contain solanine - a poisonous glycoalkaloid that has aggressive properties. Penetrating deep into the skin, it destroys the papilloma from the inside and weakens its base (root). As a result of this, after some time, the formation disappears or moves away from the skin on its own without the slightest trace. After this, there are no scars left, and there is no pain during the process either.

The success of using potatoes for papillomas is determined by its beneficial properties:

  1. Softening. The product moisturizes hardened formations with a dry crust and allows you to quickly remove them without discomfort using the same patch or tweezers.
  2. Wound healing. This action is manifested in the rapid healing of damaged areas surrounding the papilloma. This reduces the likelihood of infection when the integrity of the skin is damaged and accelerates tissue regeneration.
  3. Cleansing. When treating papilloma with potatoes, impurities on the face or any other parts of the body are removed, clogging the pores and preventing the skin from breathing. They provoke the appearance of more and more formations, and the disease takes an acute form.
  4. Regenerating. Potato juice restores damaged cells and areas of the skin, strengthens it, increasing local immunity, and thereby reduces the likelihood of secondary spread of papillomas throughout the body.
Important! The benefits of treating papillomas with potatoes appear both when used externally to treat lesions, and when taken orally. These two methods can be effectively combined within one course of therapy.

Contraindications to treatment of papillomas with potatoes

You cannot self-medicate! Before using any potato-based product, including in its pure form, you should consult a doctor.

It is necessary to abandon this idea if there is a suspicion of a transition from a benign form to a malignant one, if there is increased division of skin cells and a deterioration in the appearance of the papilloma - redness or darkening, the appearance of a crust, bleeding.

When treating papillomas with potatoes, you should not remove them until they become dry enough and begin to come away from the skin on their own. Otherwise, the procedure will cause severe pain, may lead to the appearance of scars and increased coverage of nearby tissues, as well as the spread of the virus throughout the body.

Potatoes for papillomas should be used with caution by pregnant women due to the toxic substance they contain, as well as by children, especially those under 12 years of age. At this age, there is a high probability of developing allergies to substances in the vegetable.

Potatoes cannot remove papilloma very quickly; this will take at least 10 days. The tighter its contact with the skin and the larger the formation, the longer it will take to fight it. But after the first application, the growth dries out a little, and after a few days it becomes covered with a crust.

By the end of the course of treatment for papillomas with potatoes, the formation at the root softens and most often disappears on its own. If this does not happen, it can usually be easily removed with tweezers or adhesive tape. This procedure has no side effects; there is no redness, irritation or itching after it.

Potatoes are effective in removing papilloma due to the fact that they do not leave “roots” or dead skin areas. Sometimes, however, small depressions may appear, but this happens very rarely and only when treating flat formations without a “leg”.

Real reviews about the treatment of papillomas with potatoes

There are both positive and neutral reviews about getting rid of papillomas with potatoes; negative ones are very rare. This is due to the safety of the procedure, because it is almost impossible to harm yourself with this common vegetable, which is confirmed by people’s statements. They write about almost 100% elimination of formations in literally 10 days and talk about the absence of adverse skin reactions.

Rita, 41 years old

I really don’t like all kinds of medications, and I always try to make do with folk remedies. Removing papilloma under the arm was no exception; the juice of old potatoes helped me with this. I took the variety “Rosara”, with pink skin and long tubers. I crushed the raw potatoes in a meat grinder, put the pulp on cheesecloth and squeezed out the juice. I used it to wipe the formations for about a week. Closer to the end of this period, the papilloma became almost dry, barely stayed on the skin, and then it cost me nothing to remove it, carefully picking it up with tweezers, which I had previously doused with boiling water. The procedure was so quick and simple that I didn’t even have time to react to minor painful sensations. But most of all I was surprised by the absence of any traces in this place after the treatment of papillomas with potatoes was completed.

Vyacheslav, 62 years old

Oddly enough, I have practically no papillomas on my body, but not so long ago a couple of them appeared in the chest area. Naturally, this alarmed me, I went to the doctor, he examined them and said that everything was fine and there was nothing to do at all. But since they were on a “leg” and constantly clung to clothes, I had to act on my own. I immediately fell in love with the potato, as it perfectly destroys such formations and helps to remove them without pain. I used puree with celandine for this, did everything according to the recipe, combined the components, applied the mixture to the skin, fixed it with a bandage and plaster, and left it for 3 hours. Then I repeated this procedure several more times in exactly the same order. As a result, the skin became clean, and there was nothing left to cling to T-shirts.

Anatoly, 53 years old

I don’t trust any folk recipes, but anyway, after reading positive reviews, I decided to try potatoes for papillomas on myself. From all of them, I chose a tincture with celandine and pine cones, mixed all the ingredients and kept the product in a jar for some time. Then I strained it and then soaked a cotton pad in this mixture and wiped the papilloma 3 times a day for 10 days. About 3 days before the end of the course, in addition to this, I began to make a compress from the same product. I simply soaked a piece of gauze in it and applied it to the formations for 10 minutes. It seemed to me that things went faster this way, thanks to which, in the end, I was able to get rid of two growths without any problems, causing discomfort due to their inconvenient location. I have my own potatoes, they grow in the garden, I spent almost no money on anything, I took moonshine from a neighbor, and I collected the grass myself. A good alternative to expensive procedures, but you need to be sure that the papilloma is benign, otherwise you can harm yourself.
