Legalon-35: description, application and features

Legalon-35 is a drug belonging to the group of hepatoprotective agents. It is produced in Germany by Madaus AG and contains the active substance silibinin, which is also known under the international name silebinin.

Legalon-35 is presented in the form of tablets in a dosage of 35 mg. It is used to treat toxic liver damage such as alcoholism, halogenated hydrocarbon intoxication, heavy metal compounds and drug-induced liver injury. It is also effective for chronic hepatitis, liver cirrhosis (as part of complex therapy) and lipid metabolism disorders.

Legalon-35 is synonymous with such drugs as Karsil, Legalon, Legalon 70, Legalon-70, Leprotek, Naturkarsevt, Silegon, Silymarin and Silymarin Sediko instant.

The drug is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to its components. Diarrhea and allergic reactions may occur as side effects, and interactions with other medications have not been studied. An overdose of Legalon-35 is not described in the medical literature.

A special feature of Legalon-35 is that its oral solution can be prescribed to patients with diabetes mellitus, since it does not contain glucose.
