**Lennander section (k. G. Lennander)** is one of the most famous and studied sections of ancient deposits in Russia. It is located in the north of the Karelian Isthmus, in the Leningrad region, near the city of Priozersk. The history of research at the Lennander section began at the end of the 19th century, when fossilized remains of fish were found here, the age of which was about 40 million years. At the beginning of the 20th century, the Lennanderovets section became one of the popular scientific sites in Russia and attracted the attention of many scientists. This site was studied by such famous scientists as P.P. Smirnov, M.M. Grachevsky, S.V. Meyer, R.G. Khodasevich and many others.
**Study of the Lennader section showed the following interesting facts**:
- Fish remains have a rich and diverse range of species; - Presence of shark bones related to modern sharks; - Identification of the existence of skeletal remains of armored fish and other marine organisms; - Presence of traces of intrusions of igneous rocks and metamorphization of sedimentary rocks; - Subsequent studies of the Lennader group of sections gave insight into the changes in the seabed that occurred during the Quaternary period;
The Lennader section is a unique place for studying the development of life on Earth and preserves information about what happened in the Arctic Ocean many millions of years ago. It is also of interest for scientific research and can serve as a basis for further understanding of geology and paleontology.
