Leukemia

Leukemia is a malignant disease of the hematopoietic system, which is characterized by pathological proliferation of leukocytes. These include: granulocytes, monocytes, lymphocytes. With leukemia, normal hematopoiesis is displaced and replaced by a tumor one.

The leukemic process begins in the bone marrow and then spreads to the peripheral blood and can affect various organs and tissues. There are acute and chronic forms of leukemia; lymphocytic and myeloid.

The causes of leukemia are not fully understood. The development of the disease is associated with genetic factors, ionizing radiation, chemicals, and viruses.

Symptoms include weakness, fever, shortness of breath, and bleeding. Diagnosed by clinical picture and blood tests. Treatment includes chemotherapy, bone marrow transplantation, and targeted therapy. The prognosis depends on the form and stage of the disease.

Medicine is constantly evolving, new diagnostic techniques and methods for treating tumors of any location appear every year. One of these problems that requires careful monitoring of patients and constant adjustment of treatment is leukemia - a benign tumor of the hematopoietic tissue of the bone marrow. If cancer affects a person and his loved ones, this means that the disease dictated its conditions
