Lichen spinosum Decalvating Follicular Little

Lichen spinosum, also known as lichen delatans follicularis, is a skin condition characterized by the formation of raised white patches on the skin that are often shaped like spikes or hedgehogs. This is one of the manifestations of Little-Lassuere syndrome.

The disease can occur in people of any age, but is more common in women over 40 years of age. The syndrome occurs due to changes in a person’s hormonal levels, as well as an increase in the level of testosterone in the blood. It can often progress over time and lead to hair loss in the ears, armpits, ankles and chest.

Treatment for lichen spinosum involves the use of topical remedies such as creams and lotions containing corticosteroids. Systemic corticosteroid medications may also be prescribed. If symptoms do not improve, doctors may recommend the use of phototherapy or cryotherapy.
