Ligaments Metacarpal Interosseous

The metacarpal interosseous ligament is one of the two sections of connective tissue of the elbow. They are divided into anterior lower and posterior upper. The anterior ligament connects the first metacarpal joint to the first row of muscles. The posterior ligament runs between the metacarpal joints and strengthens the back of the hand. The metacarpal interosseous ligaments are responsible for the movement of the hand, dexterity of the fingers and the hand as a whole.
