Lizoril

Lizoril: An effective antihypertensive drug for the control of hypertension

Lizoril, also known by its international name lisinopril, is a powerful antihypertensive drug used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). It belongs to the group of angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACE inhibitors), which are widely used in medical practice to control blood pressure and prevent cardiovascular complications.

Lizoril is manufactured in Indonesia by Ipka Laboratories Ltd., and also in India by the same company. It is available in tablets of various strengths, including 2.5 mg, 5 mg, 10 mg and 20 mg, allowing the optimal dose to be prescribed depending on the patient's needs.

The active ingredient in the drug is lisinopril, which exerts its effect by blocking the action of angiotensin-converting enzyme. This leads to dilation of blood vessels and a decrease in peripheral vascular resistance, which in turn leads to a decrease in blood pressure.

Lizoril is effectively used in the treatment of arterial hypertension both in monotherapy and in combination therapy. It may also be used to treat renovascular hypertension, clinically stable acute myocardial infarction, heart failure (as an adjuvant treatment), diabetic nephropathy and other conditions.

Despite the effectiveness of the medicine, there are a number of contraindications to its use. Lizoril is not recommended in case of hypersensitivity to lisinopril, during pregnancy and lactation. It is also necessary to be careful when prescribing the drug to patients with a history of anaphylactoid reactions, angioedema, collagenosis, bone marrow depression, hypotension, impaired renal and hepatic function, aortic or mitral stenosis and other conditions.

Side effects may occur when using Lisoril, which may include headache, dizziness, disturbances of consciousness, drowsiness, hypotension, palpitations, visual disturbances, dry cough, diarrhea, hepatotoxicity and others. If any unusual or serious side effects occur, consult your doctor immediately.

It is important to take Lisoril exactly as prescribed by your doctor and follow the dosage instructions. It is not recommended to change the dose or stop taking the drug without consulting your doctor, as this may lead to worsening blood pressure control and cardiovascular complications.

In addition to taking the medication, it is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle, including eating right, being physically active, not smoking, and limiting alcohol consumption. Also, regularly measuring your blood pressure and visiting your doctor to monitor your health are important for effective management of hypertension.

Considering that my knowledge is at a loss as of September 2021, I recommend turning to current sources of information or consulting with a medical specialist to obtain more detailed and up-to-date information about Lisoril and its use.
