Lomacin: an Indian-made antimicrobial drug

Lomacin is an antimicrobial drug from the fluoroquinolone group produced by the Indian pharmaceutical company Wave Pharmaceuticals. Its international name is lomefloxacin. The drug is presented in the form of film-coated tablets containing 400 mg of active substance.

Lomacin is effective in the treatment of urinary tract infections (cystitis, pyelonephritis, prostatitis, urethritis), biliary tract, gastrointestinal tract (dysentery, typhoid fever, salmonellosis), respiratory tract (including exacerbation of chronic bronchitis), soft tissues, wound and burn infections , gonorrhea, chlamydia, tuberculosis (complex therapy), osteomyelitis, conjunctivitis, blepharitis, blepharoconjunctivitis, severe cholera and infection prevention during transurethral surgical interventions.
