It is not recommended for hypersensitivity to the drug, myasthenia gravis, angle-closure glaucoma, acute intoxication, depressive neuroses, pregnancy, breastfeeding, children under 12 years of age (tablets) and adolescents under 18 years of age (injections).

Side effects that may occur when using lorazepam include dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, appetite disturbances, muscle weakness, drowsiness, depression, headache, blood changes and itchy skin. Long-term use of lorazepam can lead to the development of drug dependence.

Interactions of lorazepam with other drugs should also be considered. It can enhance the effect of narcotic analgesics, general and local anesthetics. The use of alcohol and other central nervous system depressants, MAO inhibitors and some antidepressants may increase the neurotropic activity of lorazepam. Scopolamine in combination with lorazepam may increase sedation, induce hallucinations and illogical behavior.

An overdose of lorazepam may cause drowsiness, coma, areflexes, respiratory depression, hypotension, hypothermia, and possibly death. In case of overdose, seek medical help immediately.
