Loreal micellar water reviews

Micellar water has been used for medical purposes for quite a long time and was originally developed to care for very sensitive and dry skin, including infants and people with dermatological diseases. Today, this innovative development of French cosmetologists has taken a strong place in the cosmetic bag of every modern woman. This unique product effectively and gently cleanses the face of impurities and makeup, cares for it, and transforms it.

Why is it needed?

Micellar water is not just a product for washing, it is a special cleanser, which completely removes decorative cosmetics and dissolves impurities, while maintaining the hydrolipid balance and protective functions of the epidermis, does not require subsequent rinsing. It doesn't irritate or dry out, so it can be used to remove eye makeup.

It got its name from the smallest particles it contains - micelles, which are round liquid crystals consisting of complex fatty acids. These small particles, like magnets, attract fat, dirt, cosmetics and envelop them. Contaminants enclosed in the micelle are easily removed from the surface with a cotton pad.

Features of micelles:

  1. Able to reduce the negative impact of most cleansing substances that irritate the dermis. This also applies to sodium lauryl sulfate.
  2. Interferes with the action of most chemicals. This quality is both positive and negative. Micelles can also deactivate “useful” components; the cosmetic product will not give the expected effect.
  3. The main property of micelles is binding and washing away oily particles, which is what makes products with micelles ideal for removing makeup and sebum.

The main advantages are:

  1. gently and effectively cleanses the dermis;
  2. maintains lipid balance;
  3. moisturizes the epidermis, since the micelles perfectly pass through all its layers and deliver life-giving moisture;
  4. does not damage, does not dry or tighten;
  5. does not leave behind a greasy film, like, for example, cosmetic milk;
  6. since it does not require additional rinsing, it is an excellent option for cleansing while traveling;
  7. quickly refreshes on hot summer days or after physical activity;
  8. will help correct slightly smudged makeup.

Micellar water from L’Oreal Paris

Experienced employees of the laboratory of the cosmetic brand L’Oreal Paris have developed their own unique formula for a new generation of products intended for facial care.

3 in 1 for normal and combination skin

This product is a universal balancing lotion, which will delicately cleanse the face, lips and delicate area around the eyes of dirt, excess fat and decorative cosmetics.

Thanks to a special composition developed specifically for this skin type, it will not only thoroughly cleanse, but also restore the hydrolipidic balance of the dermis, refresh the face and literally transform it. With a simple movement of your hand with a cotton pad soaked in the product, you will cleanse and refresh your face.

"Absolute tenderness"

The product is specially designed for dry and sensitive skin, An excellent alternative to Bioderma. It has an advanced, unusual texture, more like a gel - it is not at all thick and non-sticky. Fats and cosmetics are easily removed and can be used to remove eye makeup. The refreshing texture will soothe and moisturize the face. The gel is well distributed over the surface of the dermis and has a neutral, delicate aroma.

L'Oreal micellar products can be used daily; they do not cause redness or burning when they come into contact with the mucous membrane of the eyes. They have a hypoallergenic formula, tested under ophthalmological and dermatological control.

Compound

The products consist of distilled water and micelles. How additional components are used:

  1. glycerin, which helps retain moisture;
  2. Hexylene glycol is an especially mild surfactant;
  3. preservative;
  4. Polyaminopropyl Biguanide – Protects against a wide range of mold, bacteria and yeast, and is found in some children's cosmetics and contact lens formulations.

Does not contain alcohol, alkali or soap.

How to use?

To cleanse your face of residual sebum, dirt and decorative cosmetics accumulated during the day, moisten a cotton pad with the solution and wipe your face along the massage lines. To completely remove contamination, you will need to repeat the procedure several times.

To remove eye makeup, apply a cotton pad for a few seconds and remove with a gentle movement. The upper eyelid is cleaned in the direction from the inner corner to the outer, and the lower - vice versa. If the mascara is long-lasting, then place one disc under the eyelashes, and the second on the eyelashes. Wait and remove them with a slight movement. Do not rub or stretch delicate skin.

Cosmetologists recommend removing stubborn makeup first with a special product.: separately for the eyes and separately for the face. Then you can finish cleansing with a micellar solution. Of course, using it is not the end of your facial care. Next, you need to use tonic, creams, serums. For deep cleansing, do not forget to use stronger products such as masks, scrubs, etc.

If you have to attend an important event or have important things planned, then to keep your skin toned and prevent the appearance of oily shine, wipe it with ice cubes made from water with micelles.

Peculiarities

If you use the product for daily cleansing, there is no need to rinse it off. But if you use it for makeup removal, then experts still advise carefully removing the residue with water. Micelles in combination with particles of fat and decorative cosmetics can lead to the formation of acne.

Women with oily skin are recommended to use gels for cleansing. But after cosmetic procedures that dry out the dermis, you will need a micellar solution. Be sure to exfoliate at least once a week. Water is too soft, so additional cleansing of dead particles is necessary.

For girls who do long-lasting multi-stage makeup, such cleansing will not be enough. They are better off using stronger rinse-off products, preferably those containing acids.

Who is it suitable for?

  1. If you don’t like the washing procedure itself, then water with micelles will be a godsend. It will quickly and easily cleanse your skin and give it a fresh look.
  2. Girls with sensitive, dry skin, rosacea and acne. Often, washing with water and cleansers leads to irritation and dryness.
  3. If it is not possible to use other methods of cleansing, for example, when traveling, or it is tough.
  4. Girls who lead an active lifestyle go to the gym. After a workout, water will perfectly cleanse your face of sweat and refresh it.
  5. Since the product has a low cost and low consumption, it is suitable for budget-conscious ladies.

Loreal Paris Micellar Water Micellar Makeup Remover Lotion

Girls, hello to everyone!

I want to share with you my opinion about a new product for me - Micellar water from Loreal. I've been using Garnier Micellar Cleanser for a long time and I'm happy with it. But something told me to buy a new product.

The product's name: Loreal Paris Micellar Water Micellar Makeup Remover Lotion

Expanded opinion: The jar contains 200 ml. This is enough to try and taste the product. This is my first time using this micellar, and I liked it more than Garnier.

The bottle has a beautiful, discreet design; everything you need can be read on the packaging.
The composition is shown in the photo below.

A very convenient lid, tight and well protects the product from leaking (if it is transported, moved or put away somewhere)

The product is suitable for dry and sensitive skin, but my skin is oily, and despite this, it suited me. It does not dry out and does not cause irritation. But I wouldn’t say it’s calming. So average. I would like to note that I still have sensitive skin. So the remedy suited me.

The product foams easily and gently cleanses the skin (I shake it before use, this makes the lotion much softer). Sometimes, I noticed that micellar water dries out pimples (this seems to be a plus). The only downside I can highlight is the fast consumption (which significantly distinguishes it from Garnier).
The micellar does not sting my eyes when I remove my makeup, even when I apply a lot of product on a cotton pad.
But I definitely wash my face with a cleansing gel after it.

Below I have attached a photo where the face is half clean (micellar water was used) and makeup is applied to the other half of the face.
The left side is completely cleared.

I don’t have to rub or press, everything is easy and simple, just hold the cotton pad on your eye for a little while, all the mascara will remain on it.

It took 2 cotton pads for half my face, and 3 full pads for my whole face.

I liked the water, but I decided that I would still test and try other companies.

Sometimes in my reviews of decorative cosmetics I write the phrase “it washes off well with micellar water.” Several of my friends, to whom I showed the publications, asked what kind of animal this is - micellar water. Therefore, today’s review, by popular demand, will be about it.

What is micellar anyway?

Micellar water (or, in common parlance, micellar water) is a special liquid product that allows you to easily remove almost any impurities from the skin, including dust, persistent cosmetics, and fat. It consists of ordinary, distilled or mineral water and micelles (from the Latin mica - crumb, grain), which are microscopic droplets of aqueous solutions of fatty acids. Additionally, caring components and those that help the product maintain a stable structure can be added.

Initially, micellar waters were invented to care for sensitive infant skin and for people with dermatological problems, and only then they drew attention as a makeup remover, thanks to the miraculous ability of micelles to easily separate impurities without causing irritation.

First acquaintance with micellar water

I first saw this product back in 2007 in the lines of French cosmetic pharmacy brands: Bioderma, La Roche Posay, Uriage. Since the entire description of the principle of action of micellar water does not sound very convincing (some mysterious particles that cannot be seen should supposedly easily cleanse my skin - some kind of shamanism), and the price of 1000 rubles for half a liter of ordinary-looking water scared me off for a long time. I didn't dare try it.

Then my passion for makeup and YouTube began, where absolutely every makeup artist at least once showed Bioderma micellar water with a pink cap in a video about their cosmetic favorites. In the end, curiosity won out and I bought it for myself to try. This was the beginning of a long friendship that has lasted for 6 years.

About a year ago, reviews of Loreal micellar water began to appear on YouTube, with assurances that it was just as wonderful as my beloved Bioderma. Which, by the way, has also risen in price due to the change in the ruble exchange rate. Since I know that Loreal owns drugstore brands such as La Roche Posay and Vichy, this gave me reason to believe that they are able to produce a quality product. At this point, it’s time to finish the literary introduction and move on to the review itself.

Micellar water L’Oreal Absolute Tenderness: description, composition, comparison with Bioderma

Here they are my beauties:

Note: my micellar product from Bioderma is called Crealine - this is an option for the domestic European market (imported from France). In Irkutsk pharmacies it goes under the name Sensibio - it is absolutely the same product.

Both are clear water. In the photo it seems that the jars are the same size, but don’t believe your eyes. Loreal - 200 ml, Bioderma - 500 ml.

The smell of both is approximately the same and barely perceptible, similar to Irkutsk mineral water. There are no fragrances, which is very cool.

Close-up of Loreal:

Close-up of Bioderma:

Unfortunately, my jar is not Russified, but in short, it says the following: it guarantees gentle removal of impurities without irritating even the most sensitive skin, maintains the correct pH level, and is suitable for removing eye makeup (tested by ophthalmologists). Directions for use: apply to a cotton pad, apply to the skin, gently remove dirt, if necessary, repeat with a new cotton pad.

As you can see, the compositions of the micellars are different, but I don’t really understand anything about either one. If someone does an analysis of the composition, it would be very interesting to read.

It's time to smear yourself in cosmetics and look at the effect of both waters in comparison.

Micellar water in action

Since its main purpose is to remove makeup, I decided to decorate myself with the cosmetics that I often use:

What I have here (in order): Max Factor mascara, TonyMoly gel eyeliner (long-lasting), Bell liquid eyeliner, Art Visage eyeliner, Gosh felt-tip eyeliner (long-lasting), Maybelline mascara, Maybelline color sensational lipstick , TonyMoly lip pencil (quite long lasting), Pupa lip pencil. I walk around with all this splendor for about 30 minutes so that the cosmetics sit well on the skin.

I will wash the top row with Loreal micellar, and the bottom row with Bioderma. I slowly move a well-moistened cotton pad over my hand, with almost no pressure. Rrraz:

In general, when you remove makeup from your face with micellar, it is better to apply a cotton pad and hold it, rather than rubbing. Here I didn’t hold it, but, I note, I didn’t rub it either, I just rubbed it lightly without stretching the skin. I take a fresh cotton pad and repeat the procedure:

Gel eyeliner doesn't give up. I’ll use the same cotton pad one more time:

And this is a photo from a different angle:

How I use micellar water

Before moving on to a detailed opinion, I’ll say again that on my face I use micellar a little differently than in the experiment above:

To remove eye or lip makeup, I moisten a cotton pad and apply it to the skin for 1.5-2 minutes. Then I remove the remaining paint with very light movements. If the makeup was completely persistent, I repeat the steps again,

If my eyelash line was painted and the previous step did not completely remove the makeup, then I soak a cotton swab in micellar and walk over the eyelid. There is no need to rub, the remnants of makeup seem to stick to the cotton wool themselves,

To remove foundation and blush from the face, I wet a cotton pad well and wipe the skin lightly, without pressure.

After that, I do my usual facial care routine, including washing my face with water and some foaming product. But in the morning I can simply wipe my face with micellar and rinse with water (I can do without the last step, but I’m psychologically uncomfortable).

It is important to remember that micellar is NOT a TONIC! She does not need to wipe her face between cleansing and applying cream, because... It does not perform a tonic function.

Opinion about both micellar waters

So, based on the results of the experiment on my hand and the long-term use of both micellar products on my face, I can draw conclusions:

Bioderma micellar water begins to dissolve makeup faster

both products work equally well with long-lasting cosmetics

Neither water irritates or stings my skin

I can remove eye makeup with both, but Bioderma is more comfortable for me because it works faster

neither one nor the other leaves a sticky or filmy feeling on the face

According to the manufacturers, you don’t have to wash your face after both micellar products, but I wash my face most often, because... I just love the feel of the water.

I love no other makeup remover as much as micellar water. I can't stand oily textures on my eyes (which are most common on biphasic people) because they make me extremely irritated, to the point of tears. And here even very budget water from Loreal does not cause any discomfort.

Overall, I'm happy with both products. Yes, Loreal micellar water acts a little slower, so I would continue to use Bioderma if it weren’t for one tiny fact. Bioderma costs about 1,200 rubles for 500 ml, and Loreal costs about 200 rubles for 200 ml.

So now I use Bioderma micellar water only to remove particularly heavy eye makeup or cleanse the space between the eyelashes. In all other cases I I am completely satisfied with how the product from Loreal works. I recommend trying it!

I hope you found my review interesting and useful.
